The Quay Players Return to the Stage with Little Red: A Musical Pantomime

Back with their first pantomime since 2019 (oh yes they are!)

Filled with a whole host of panto-tastic puns, toe-tapping tunes, and just the right amount of silliness, Little Red: A Musical Pantomime is destined to be a magical production for all ages to see in Central London.

The group will be performing Little Red: A Musical Pantomime at the Greenwood Theatre in London Bridge, Thursday 15th – Saturday 17th December 2022.

Written in 2019 and originally due to be performed in 2020, the show has been delayed (twice!) due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. However, Little Red has truly been a labour of love; the cast and crew are all so excited and ready to be in front of an audience again.

Loosely based on the classic tale of Little Red Riding Hood, bored of daily life and longing for adventure Little Red and her best friends Butters sneak out of Mumma’s Bakery to make a special delivery to Granny Crumbs. The journey to Granny’s house is far from easy as to get there they’ll have to cross the Paul Holly Woods…

Red’s fun adventure faces a grim turn as she runs into her Mumma’s rival Wenzel, the Big Bad Wolf. He has his own plan to become the town’s star baker. Little Red and the new friends she meets on her travels quickly need to step up to the plate in order to stop the wolf ruining Christmas.

Adam Gilbert and Andy Small, Little Red co-writers and directors, say they “first started writing Little Red in 2019, inspired by the pantomime we were performing at the time.” The duo aim “to create a show that would be fun for everyone to be in, as well as delivering an amazing show for the audience” to watch.

Nearly three years after writing Little Red, the pair have said: “for two years we’ve been the only people laughing at our jokes. It’s been great to watch and direct the scenes we first dreamed up before the pandemic struck. The cast are so talented and it’s been a joy to direct. This is a show that will make you laugh, sing along and provide you with a guaranteed festive good time.”
